Billy Speary Punches out Easy Decision over Paul Jackson in Amateur Feature before Big House

Making what in all probability will be his final appearance as in amateur boxer, Billy Speary, of Nanticoke, national A.A.U. bantamweight champion, last night punched out in easy three round decision over Pauley Jackson, of Reading in the feature bout of a bangup amateur card last night in Mealey's. The bouts attracted one of the largest crowds ever to witness amateur indoor bouts here.

After his decision victory last night Speary said that there was a possibility that he might engage in one more tune-up bout before he turned professional in a bout at Scranton on January 31 with an opponent has yet unnamed.

Speary last night had little trouble in out-boxing the Reading colored boy, but did take several hard jolts in the course of the three rounds. However, he drove a number of hard right hand punches to the colored boy's mid-section which slowed Jackson up considerably. Neither boxer, however, was in any great distress.
