REFEREE WAVES SPEARY TO NEUTRAL CORNER AFTER HE FLOORS FOE
Busy Billy Speary, Nanticoke's mighty mite, retained
his open flyweight title in the Maine-to-Miami Golden Gloves last night
when he knocked out Steve Bono, Bay Ridge ringman, in the first round.
Here Referee Morgan is waving Speary to a neutral corner following one
of Bono's three trips to the deck. A crowd of 17, 599 fans filled
Madison Square Garden to view the battles.
