Busy Fighter

Since turning professional Billy Speary, Nanticoke boxer and former National A.A.U. Amateur Champion, has certainly been collecting the shekels. It is less than year ago that "Billy" decided to join the ranks of wage earning boxers and in this period of time has packed away some 15 or 16 bouts. A good drawing card, seldom failing to jam the house, and working on a guarantee with a privilege of a percentage of the gross gate receipts, Mr. Speary has reaped a neat harvest. This column has been informed that in all his professional bouts to date he is exercised the privilege of taking the percentage on the gate which was in excess of his guarantee. Speary is in smart hands. Managers and handlers who know their business and who it appears have been carefully nursing their protégé along. This becomes quite evident by Speary's bookings. A fight in Allentown last night and billed to go again tonight in Wilmington DE.
